See how long the race lasted and how far behind the second car was at the finish line. After Race details are displayed, Race Timer begins another race countdown. (This feature can be delayed or speeded up.)
Each car’s finishing speed is measured and displayed on LCD in Km/h or mph (depends on model). Extra detail is provided with the Datalink and Advanced models.
No leads or track modification required. Simply place over the track, power up and play! Simple enough for a child to use. Tested with 5 year olds!
There are no physical switches or paddles to interfere or damage your models. Light beams measure the car’s passing providing reliable and accurate timing.
Those who enjoy fine tuning cars or tracks can quickly see the affect of their work. The Race Timer is easily placed anywhere that is flat, even on a slope. This allows precise analysis of specific track areas or accelaration profiles of cars as they run down the track.
With the datalink output to a computer you get precise detail on times and speeds. Each race or speed run is recorded and can be used in further data logging and analysis. With precision measurements to within 33 microseconds (0.00033 s) even small changes are revealed.
Making science fun! Using model cars, the Race Timer can show the relationship between potential and kinetic energy and how much energy is ‘used’ by a particular car or track. A new pause and skip feature allows users to pause LCD displays and take longer reading the output or setting up the next race. Or skip and bypass straight to an immediately start of the next race.
Increased accuracy - Standard version is 2x more accurate than v1.2; whilst the Advanced version is 14x more accurate.
Models now available that display LCD speeds in mph of Km/h

Our Race Timer, Start / Finish Line and Speedometer is designed for 1:64 scale model cars, e.g. Hot Wheels. It will start a race, measure the time and speed of each car and reveal the winner of a 2-lane race, or continuously measure the speed of every car on up to 2 tracks.

The first production version of our Race Timer and Speedometer was released In June 2021. Demand outstripped the initial stock and we produced more units with additional production runs. A new version 1.2 was released in Nov 2021 improving timer resolution by internally measuring events in millionths of a second and adding an error checking feature. The new design, Version 2.0 released in March 2022, now adds a pause feature and improves accuracy further. The Standard version is a 2x improvement on measurements on V1.2 whilst the new Advanced model improves this another 7x! (14x overall improvement) Speeds are now more precise and determined within 1% of real speeds up to 88Km/h!! With Version 2.1, specific models can display speeds on the LCD in mph or Km/h.
